Why Sunscreen is Your Skin's Best Friend (Even in Kathmandu)
Think you don't need sunscreen on a cloudy day in the city? Think again. Our dermatologist explains why it's non-negotiable.
UV radiation is present even on cloudy days, and at Kathmandu's altitude, its effects are even stronger. Daily sunscreen use is the single most effective anti-aging and anti-cancer tool for your skin. Look for a "broad-spectrum" sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher. Apply it generously to all exposed skin every morning, about 15 minutes before you go outside. Reapply every two hours if you are swimming or sweating. For daily city use, a morning application is often sufficient. This simple habit can prevent wrinkles, sun spots, and most importantly, reduce your risk of skin cancer.
